Abu Dhabi Police warns of the dangers of incorrect use of scooters

The Abu Dhabi Police General Command, in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center, warned community members and parents of the dangers of incorrect use of electric bicycles (scooters), especially driving them in undesignated places or without adhering to security and safety requirements, as this may result in accidents and injuries that threaten the safety of users and road users.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate stressed the importance of using electric bicycles on the paths and sites designated for them, and avoiding riding them on main roads and between vehicles or in crowded places, which contributes to reducing accidents and enhancing traffic safety, stressing the need to adhere to preventive measures and wear personal protective equipment during use.
She called on parents to assume their responsibilities in following up on their children and directing them towards the safe use of electric bicycles, ensuring that they wear a helmet, knee and elbow protectors, and instilling sound traffic behaviors in them, in a way that enhances the culture of prevention and protects them from dangers.
It also called on everyone to be responsible and positive citizens, adhere to traffic regulations and instructions, and contribute to spreading awareness among members of society about the safe use of modern means of transportation, stressing that enhancing traffic culture and adhering to safe behaviors support its efforts in achieving the strategic priority “smart road security,” and establishing a safer traffic environment for all.
