Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi witnesses the launch "Madar Media"
Sharjah, July 15, 2017 – His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, today witnessed the launch of “Madar Media”, the commercial and creative arm of Sharjah Media City “Shams”, which specializes in developing and producing media and creative content, at the city’s headquarters.
His Highness learned about “Madar Media” and its strategic directions that aim to strengthen the system of media and creative industries in the Emirate of Sharjah, support the economic sustainability of the media sector, and open new horizons for promising media talents and projects, its vision, its future plans, and the integrated services it provides to support the media sector and content industry.
His Highness, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, listened to an explanation about a group of specialized creative initiatives and programmes, including the “Comedy Club”, which provides a supportive platform for comedic talents and young content makers, and contributes to developing purposeful entertainment content and enhancing the presence of contemporary creative arts in the local media scene.
His Highness saw live models simulating photography in space and on planets, in addition to promotional photography that supports the work of “Madar Media”.
His Highness was briefed on “Madar Media” business units, which include training and development, social media and influencer management, podcast production, dramatic script writing, film production services and the provision of filming locations, as well as the services of the “Madar AI” platform, which employs artificial intelligence techniques in producing and designing visual and audio content, making it a major focus in developing future content.
“Madar Media” comes within an integrated vision aimed at enhancing the financial sustainability of the media sector in the emirate, and supporting growth paths and content creation based on excellence and innovation, which contributes to the development of a more competitive and sustainable media environment.
Madar Media adopts a flexible institutional model based on an integrated system of services and capabilities that Shams has developed over the past years, which includes modern photography studios, advanced audio and video recording rooms, and spaces prepared for digital broadcasting, in addition to the influencer service, which is one of the professional empowerment tools for local creators.
The launch included the signing of two memoranda of understanding between “Madar Media”, represented by Rashid Abdullah Al-Obed, Director General of Sharjah Media City “Shams”, and the “Maraya” platform of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, represented by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, and “Nikon” Middle East Company, represented by Narendra Menon, Managing Director of Nikon.
The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance cooperation in the areas of development and production of media content, exchange experiences, implement specialized training programs that contribute to qualifying media competencies, and support the use of the latest technologies in the fields of photography and production, in a way that enhances the quality of content and advances the media and creativity system in the Emirate of Sharjah.
