Sharjah, July 15 / WAM / “Mleiha National Park” announced that it has been selected as a finalist to compete for the title of “Best National Park in the Middle East for the year 2026” within the 33rd edition of the World Travel Awards, placing it as the leading heritage and eco-tourism destination in Sharjah alongside the most prominent protected national parks in the region.
The park is located within the core area of the Al Faya landscape, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and competes alongside only four national parks from across the Middle East. This nomination reflects Mleiha’s firm commitment to preserving the UAE’s archaeological heritage as well as providing world-class experiences in the areas of eco-tourism, education and adventure.

The World Travel Awards are considered one of the most prestigious international awards in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector, as they annually celebrate excellence and leadership in the management and development of tourist destinations around the world.
The nomination confirms the growing status of Mleiha National Park as a global destination that combines heritage preservation, nature conservation, education and sustainable tourism in one of the most important archaeological environments on the Arabian Peninsula.
Voting continues until July 31, 2026, and with Mleiha National Park being the only representative of the UAE in this category, each vote contributes to highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of the country at the regional level.
