Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi witnesses the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sharjah Media City

Sharjah, 15 July / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, today witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sharjah Media City “Shams”. The memorandum also includes the Central Finance Department and the Sharjah Islamic Bank, at the city’s headquarters.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Omar Obaid Al-Hussan Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Rashid Abdullah Al-Obed, Director-General of Sharjah Media City (Shams).
The memorandum aims to enhance electronic integration between the financial and technical systems of the parties to ensure the safe and effective exchange of data and verification of transactions, enable customers to pay fees and special dues through approved digital channels and link them to the relevant banking services and systems, and develop digital collection mechanisms and link them to the financial systems, ensuring the efficiency of financial collection and settlement procedures.
The memorandum of understanding supports the directions of the UAE and the Government of Sharjah in the field of digital transformation, smart government services, integration of services between government and semi-governmental agencies and the banking sector, enhancing the reliability of financial operations and electronic verification of documents and fees related to the services provided.
The memorandum will also work to raise the level of operational efficiency, reduce manual procedures, and accelerate the cycle of completing financial and administrative transactions, in addition to enhancing institutional cooperation and exchanging technical expertise between the parties in order to serve the development of joint digital services.
