40 artists display 148 works at the “Sketch” exhibition in Dammam


I opened Culture and Arts Society in Dammam “Sketch” exhibition with the participation of 40 artists who presented 148 works of art. The ten-day event aims to celebrate the initial outlines of artworks and enhance the visual culture of the recipient.

The exhibition witnessed the competition of approximately 60 participants who submitted more than 190 works, before the screening committee approved the works that met the conditions.

The paper works of the participants are displayed without frames, to present a vision based on highlighting Beginnings, not the final achievement.

Exchanging experiences

Through this event, the association seeks to enhance the presence of paper art as a space for sincere expression, and provide a platform for exchanging experiences.

The exhibition also aims to encourage the public to understand the stages of creating an artistic work and appreciate the value of the idea before its completion.

The director of the Culture and Arts Association in Dammam, Youssef Al-Harbi, explained that the exhibition presents a new idea based on the diversity of artistic fields such asManuscripts.

Preliminary Experiments

He praised the artists’ response and confidence in presenting their ideas and initial experiments before the public in their abstract form.

Al-Harbi added that this event translates the objectives of the association seeking to present its message through visual exhibitions.

Visual Culture

The director of the Culture and Arts Association in Dammam pointed out the importance of converging artistic experiences to consolidate culture. Visual and cognitive development in the region.

The exhibition coincides with the “One Day” program launched by the association at the beginning of this July in partnership with the General Administration of Education.

The program offers daily workshops in the fields of theatre, cinema, music, and Arabic Calligraphy until August 10th.
