council "Ministry of Industry and Technology" Discusses the employment of assistive artificial intelligence in developing the food industries in Sharjah

Sharjah, 15 July / WAM / The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in cooperation with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Foundation “IKTVA”, organized the Interactive Council to develop services for the food industries sector at the Maliha wheat farm in the Emirate of Sharjah, with the participation of a number of factories and companies operating in the sector and partners from government and private agencies in the emirate, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Advanced Industry and Technology, the “Make in the Emirates” initiative, and the directions of the UAE government within the Assistive Artificial Intelligence project.
The council was attended by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, His Excellency Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, CEO of the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation “IKTVA”, and His Excellency Hassan Jassim Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, along with a number of officials.
The Council comes within the Ministry’s approach to enhancing direct communication with the industrial sector, listening to customers and involving them in designing government services, with a focus on plans to employ “Agentic AI” in the services provided, which contributes to improving the experience of the investor, industrial and service companies, and suppliers, raising the efficiency of services, and supporting the growth and competitiveness of vital and priority industries.
The Council reviewed the needs of factories and solutions related to the customer experience and explored opportunities for developing future services to support the transition towards more proactive and efficient services and the ability to understand the customer’s needs and facilitate his journey, as part of an ongoing journey by the Ministry’s customer councils in the various emirates of the country to enhance the industrial business environment.
His Excellency Hassan Jassim Al Nowais confirmed during the council that, in line with the strategic objectives of the Ministry and the “Make in the Emirates” initiative, we focus on listening to our customers from industrial and service companies, and we are keen to move to the field and meet with them in the various emirates of the country, to listen to their proposals in order to design services that are more efficient and linked to the needs of the industrial sector, and to focus on plans to employ assistive artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) and transform direct dialogue with factories into a practical approach to developing services and improving the customer experience.
He stressed that the food industry sector represents one of the vital sectors that support food security and sustainable industrial growth in the country, and through our partnership with the “Iktva Foundation” and companies in the private sector, we discussed opportunities to develop services in a way that contributes to reducing time and effort, simplifying procedures, and supporting the factories’ ability to grow and expand. We continue to develop our services by employing assistive artificial intelligence as a tool to raise efficiency and improve the industrial investor’s journey.
His Excellency noted the role of the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Foundation “IKTVA” in providing a direct dialogue platform with companies and factories in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the impact of this on providing the Ministry’s team with the opportunity to understand the needs of customers, listen to them, and direct them to appropriate information and procedures, especially since these councils represent part of an ongoing national journey to develop government services in partnership with industrial sector companies.
His Excellency Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji affirmed support for the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in enhancing sustainable food security and achieving self-sufficiency in organic food products through developing specific projects in the fields of agricultural and animal production and adopting sustainable practices that contribute to raising the efficiency of local production.
He said: Hosting the Interactive Council for the Development of Food Industry Services embodies a practical model of integration between government agencies and the industrial sector in a way that enhances the exchange of experiences and the development of services supporting the sector.
He added: We value our strategic partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in providing direct dialogue with food manufacturers, investors and partners, which contributes to understanding the needs of the sector and transforming them into development opportunities that support the growth of the food industries in the country. This meeting also confirms the importance of harmonizing the development of services, promoting the growth of the food industries, and empowering the national product globally, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the food industry sector in the UAE.
His Excellency pointed to the pivotal role played by the Sharjah Food Security System in employing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to improve the quality of food industries, develop food security projects, and enhance production efficiency and sustainability in a way that contributes to the preservation of natural resources, stressing that cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology represents a strategic step towards developing the food industry system, enhancing the flexibility of supply chains, and supporting innovation and advanced manufacturing, which consolidates the position of the UAE and the Emirate of Sharjah as a pioneering model in achieving sustainable food security.
The Council witnessed a direct dialogue on the most prominent opportunities for developing services related to the food industry sector. Participants also discussed the services that are most scalable through assistive artificial intelligence technologies and the opportunities that can contribute to reducing time and effort for customers, simplifying procedures, and providing real-time and more proactive services, which contributes to improving access to information and requirements and supports decision-making for investors and factories.
The focus was on direct dialogues between manufacturers and the Ministry, and the participation of representatives of the industrial sector for their challenges, proposals, ways to enhance cooperation between the government and private sectors, support the growth of food industries and innovation, and the vital role of the Mleiha wheat farm as a site that reflects the development of the agricultural and food sector in the country.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in cooperation with its partners, is working to develop the capabilities that support the growth of the industrial sector in a way that enhances flexibility and sustainability of supply chains by improving the business environment, developing services, supporting the adoption of advanced technology, and raising productivity and competitiveness.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology began the journey of customer councils in the Emirate of Dubai and is currently extending to the Emirate of Sharjah and will continue in the various emirates of the country with the aim of building services closer to the needs of factories and more supportive of the growth of the national industry.
