"Dubai Electricity and Water" The BS13500 Global Governance Certificate has been renewed for the tenth year in a row

Dubai, July 15 / WAM / Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has renewed its accreditation of the BS 13500 global standard for effective governance systems for the tenth year in a row, after a comprehensive audit process conducted by the British Standards Institute (BSI).
The renewal of accreditation confirms the maturity of the authority’s effective and integrated governance system, and the sustainability of its commitment to applying international best practices in the areas of transparency, accountability, and effective institutional oversight.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, received the certificate in the presence of Engineer Walid bin Salman, Executive Vice President of the Business Development and Excellence Sector, Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Vice President of Governance and Compliance, and the Corporate Governance and Compliance Management team at the Authority.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stressed that the Authority’s compliance with governance standards represents a fundamental pillar for enhancing the confidence of investors in particular and all stakeholders in general, and supporting business flexibility in the long term, especially in light of the Authority’s continued efforts to expand its presence outside the UAE through “Dewa International”, the independent company wholly owned by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, which aims to develop traditional and clean energy projects around the world, and transfer Dubai’s successful model in energy and water infrastructure to global markets.
He added that the renewal of the BS 13500 standard reflects the Authority’s position as a global model for excellence in governance, leadership in environmental, social and corporate governance, and sustainable growth based on innovation. It also represents the result of a continuous institutional process that has established governance as a daily work culture, and a practical embodiment of the “Dubai Actions” initiative and Dubai’s global model for transforming visions into reality and ideas into tangible achievements.
He said that maintaining internationally accredited governance systems plays an important role in supporting institutional flexibility, consolidating strategic partnerships and the Authority’s ambitions to expand its influence and investments in regional and global markets.
Engineer Walid bin Salman said that the Authority believes that good governance is a strategic enabler to achieve its vision and strategic objectives, and to consolidate its competitiveness, quality partnerships, and readiness to anticipate and create future opportunities.
Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Muwaiji said that the Authority continues to adopt artificial intelligence tools in its various operations, thus enhancing its leadership in the service institutions sector in the field of digital transformation.
