To the highest level…the heat wave in Europe increases energy consumption during the summer

High temperatures raised the average volume of demand for electricity, during the period from April to mid-July, to its highest level since 2022, according to data issued by the European Network of Electricity Transmission Network Operators (ENTSO-E).
The increase is the first annual increase during this period since the crisis occurred, thus ending three consecutive years of decline.

Europe witnessed weeks of unusually hot weather, as successive heat waves pushed temperatures to record levels, straining power grids.
The extremely high temperatures caused increased interest in air conditioning equipment on the continent, with France spending 100 million euros to quickly provide 30,000 air conditioning units to hospitals by August.
