Egypt and Turkey sign letters of intent to enhance defense cooperation and joint military industrialization

Egypt and Turkey signed letters of intent to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of defense industries and military manufacturing, in a way that supports regional security and stability and develops joint capabilities.
This came according to a statement by the Egyptian Armed Forces at the conclusion of a several-day official visit conducted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, to Turkey, where he chaired, with his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Guler, a session of discussions to discuss ways to enhance military cooperation and areas of training.
The visit also included the signing of an additional letter of intent between the head of the Egyptian Military Intelligence Authority and the head of the Turkish Defense Industries Authority, in addition to holding meetings and inspection tours for major Turkish military manufacturing companies to learn about the latest technologies and equipment and discuss joint manufacturing opportunities.
