Two recall campaigns for some Chevrolet Equinox EV cars in the country’s markets

Chevrolet dealers in the country are implementing two recall campaigns that include a number of Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles.
The first recall campaign, implemented by Al Ghandi Automotive and Bin Hamoodah Automotive, the two local agents for Chevrolet cars in the country, includes some Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles from the 2025 and 2026 models, manufactured in Mexico.
According to data from the first recall campaign, the total number of vehicles covered is expected to reach 78 vehicles nationwide.
The reasons for the recall campaign are due to the possibility of a defect in the calibration of the pedestrian alert system, which may lead to it not producing the required external sound level when the vehicle is moving at a speed between zero and 10 kilometers per hour, which may reduce the effectiveness of the audio warning, and increase the possibility of pedestrians being injured.
The second recall campaign includes Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles from the 2025 model year, manufactured in Mexico, due to a programming error in the communications unit, which may lead to sending additional data of an incorrect length in automatic eCall calls, which may hinder the response of emergency teams in the event of collisions.
According to data from the second recall campaign, the total number of vehicles covered is expected to reach 17 vehicles nationwide. The service centers of Al Ghandi Auto and Bin Hamoodah Auto will carry out the necessary repairs for the vehicles included in the two recall campaigns, at no cost to car owners.
