The dollar is rising against most major currencies

The dollar recorded a slight increase against most major currencies at the beginning of Asian market trading, today, Monday, in light of the rise in oil prices and the continued fragility of investor confidence.

The US dollar index, which measures the strength of the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, rose 0.1 percent to 100.84.

The dollar rose 0.1 against the Japanese yen to 162.48 yen, its strongest level since July 9, as investors moved towards safe assets.

The euro fell 0.1 percent to $1.1426, while the pound sterling stabilized at $1.3445.

The Australian dollar fell 0.1 percent to $0.6975, while the New Zealand dollar fell 0.2 percent to $0.5833.

Regarding cryptocurrencies, the price of Bitcoin rose 0.2 percent to reach $64,637.89, while the price of Ether increased 0.2 percent to $1,869.72.
