For those affected by the earthquakes, DP World cooperates with its partners to provide humanitarian aid in Venezuela

DP World Group, through its air cargo hub in Punta Cana, in cooperation with Uniworld Air Cargo, the Veloteni Group, and the Ethiopian Foundation, contributed to delivering more than 27 tons of humanitarian aid to communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, confirming its commitment to harnessing its logistical expertise to support the humanitarian response and enhance aid access to those affected.

This cooperation, according to a press release issued today, Tuesday, embodies the importance of employing integrated logistical capabilities to enhance the speed and efficiency of responding to emergency humanitarian situations. It also reflects the DB World Group’s continued commitment to supporting the Venezuelan people and standing by their side in the face of challenges and crises.

As a result of this joint work, the four institutions operated two humanitarian relief flights loaded with essential supplies from Punta Cana to Caracas.

The cargo transported included a range of essential humanitarian supplies, including medical equipment and supplies, medicines, child care products, hydration drinks, canned food, rescue equipment, as well as other vital materials identified as urgent needs to respond to the repercussions of this disaster.

The Punta Cana Air Cargo Centre, a joint logistics platform developed by DB World and Puntacana Group, coordinated the operation and provided logistics management, shipment processing and operational support to facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of relief supplies.

The Veloteni Group, in coordination with Ethiopian, supervised the collection, sorting and processing of the donated materials, while Uniworld Air Cargo provided the necessary air capacity to transport the shipments to Venezuela.

The CEO of the DB World Group in the Dominican Republic, Manuel Martinez, said: “The DB World Group believes that the role of logistics services goes beyond transporting goods, to form a bridge that connects communities and enables the delivery of support to those who need it most, especially in times of crisis. He added that this initiative reflects the value of strategic partnerships in creating a positive and sustainable impact, praising the cooperation of the partners in “Uniworld Air Cargo”, “Velotini” Group, and “Ethiopika”, who contributed to the success of this humanitarian mission, stressing that uniting efforts and working with a common vision allows achieving tangible results that serve the communities most in need.

For his part, the CEO of the Veloteni Group, Luis Emilio Velluteni, stressed that it was necessary for the Veloteni Group to assume its responsibility towards society during this delicate stage that Venezuela is going through, and from this standpoint, the group designated the Blue Mall center to be a center for collecting donations, and contributed to managing the various stages of the initiative, starting with collecting, sorting, and repackaging aid, all the way to preparing it for shipping, noting the pivotal role that it played. It was undertaken by the Ethiopian Foundation to ensure the delivery of aid to the most needy groups.

For his part, the CEO of Uniworld Air Cargo, Romín González, said that the company believes that air freight goes beyond being a means of transporting goods, to play a pivotal role in supporting communities when needed, and from this standpoint, it is keen to employ its operational capabilities and logistical network to contribute to the effective response to humanitarian crises.
