Umm Al Quwain, 23 July / WAM / Today, the Umm Al Quwain Cultural Center organized the “Children’s Market for Popular Foods” event, as part of the activities of the 2026 Summer Program, as part of the efforts aimed at investing the summer vacation in developing the skills of children and adolescents, consolidating the national identity, and encouraging them to engage in practical experiences that enhance the spirit of initiative and entrepreneurship, by drawing inspiration from the authentic Emirati heritage.
The event witnessed the participation of a number of children in displaying and selling a variety of popular Emirati foods, where they took over managing their own corners, receiving visitors, and introducing the products they presented, in an applied experience that allowed them to acquire communication skills, planning, managing small projects, and dealing with buying and selling operations, which contributes to strengthening their self-confidence, developing their sense of responsibility, and imparting to them the principles of business in a manner appropriate to their ages.
Participants learned about popular dishes that represent part of the Emirati food heritage, with the social and cultural connotations they carry that reflect the authenticity and values of Emirati society, and contribute to introducing younger generations to the importance of preserving this heritage and passing it on to future generations, through interactive activities that combine learning and application.
The market witnessed a large turnout from parents and visitors to the center, who were keen to encourage children and support their participation, in an interactive atmosphere that reflected the importance of community initiatives in refining young people’s talents, motivating them to be creative and innovative, and developing their culture of work and production from a young age.
