Kazakhstan reduces its oil production after drones targeted an export port

Astana, July 24 / WAM / Kazakhstan announced that it had reduced its oil production after drone attacks forced its main export terminal overlooking the Black Sea to close, while a source reported that its largest field had reduced production by more than half.

The disruption of this route, through which about two percent of the global daily supply of crude oil passes, increases the pressure on the oil market, which is already suffering as a result of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Kazakh Ministry of Energy said that oil companies reduced production due to export restrictions, noting that loading operations through the Caspian Sea Pipeline Consortium were suspended for safety reasons.
