Dubai Police monitors 36 future security challenges with the participation of experts from 30 countries

The Dubai Police Future Foresight Center, with the participation of 507 international security specialists and experts from 30 countries, prepared an advanced forward-looking study to shape the future of policing and security work, by monitoring and analyzing 36 future security challenges in a step that reflects Dubai Police’s proactive approach.

Brigadier General Dr. Hamdan Ahmed Al-Ghasiyeh, Director of the Future Foresight Center at Dubai Police, explained that the world is witnessing unprecedented urban expansion and accelerating demographic transformations, in addition to a highly complex technological revolution, which makes monitoring and anticipating future security challenges a strategic necessity, allowing the construction of future scenarios that simulate the probability of occurrence and severity of impact, enhance proactive thinking, raise the level of future readiness and ensure efficiency in the face of changes.

He said that, in light of the accelerating pace of technological development that the world is witnessing, it has become necessary to anticipate future security challenges, by monitoring signals and external drivers, in a way that contributes to understanding emerging technological trends, their impact on police operations, and their role in shaping crime patterns.

Brigadier General Al-Ghasih stated that the study relied on an advanced scientific methodology, which combined trend analysis and extrapolation of technical, social, economic, environmental, political and security variables, in addition to the involvement of specialized international expertise, which contributed to identifying future challenges based on evidence and data, supporting the development of security policies, formulating proactive initiatives, and building more flexible, innovative and sustainable business models.

He pointed out that the study comes within a series of forward-looking studies developed by the Future Foresight Center at Dubai Police, based on its strategic role in anticipating future transformations and analyzing their effects, supporting decision-making, and developing future capabilities, in a way that enhances the building of a proactive security system characterized by readiness, flexibility, and the ability to keep pace with global changes to contribute to creating the future of policing.
