“Industry” processed 1,274 requests for customs exemption during last June

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 1,274 applications for industrial customs exemption service during June 2026.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to encourage local industry and enhance its global competitiveness, by granting national industrial establishments exemption from customs duties on their imports of industry inputs.

Customs exemption requests

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, said that the customs exemption requests processed by the Ministry include 4,662 items for raw materials, and 13,974 items for machinery, equipment and spare parts.
He pointed out that the customs exemption service comes within a package of incentives, capabilities and services provided by the industrial and mining system. To facilitate the industrial investor’s journey at all stages of his project, from idea to empowerment, production and export.

National strategy for industry

He pointed out that the industrial customs exemption service is consistent with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy to empower and develop the Saudi industrial sector, and confirms the prominent role played by the Ministry to stimulate and accelerate the growth of the national industrial base.
He explained that industrial establishments obtain the customs exemption service in a short time, through facilitated procedures that take place through the digital platform for the services of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, “Sinai.”

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, through the customs exemption service, is keen to support and encourage local factories, develop their national production sectors, reduce the cost of production, and create new industrial opportunities.
The service enables industrial establishments that have an industrial license to obtain customs exemption from customs duties on their imports of machinery and equipment, spare parts, primary raw materials, semi-finished materials, and packaging materials directly necessary for production.
