المملكة: Barriers and electrical insulation… new requirements for swimming pools in apartments and tourist villas
The Ministry of TourismPrivate hospitality units, including apartments and villas, apply strict safety standards for swimming pools as a condition for licensing.
The standards included Electrical insulation, barriers preventing children from entering, and providing rescue tools to ensure the safety of tourists. The Ministry of Tourism has approved mandatory technical requirements for licensing private hospitality units that include swimming pools, stressing the need for safe insulation of electrical wiring and lighting units.

These requirements come within the standards for licensing private hospitality units, which are known as furnished properties that provide overnight accommodation for tourists in exchange for a daily wage for a period not exceeding twenty-nine days.The Ministry aims through this step to improve the quality of the tourist accommodation sector in villas and apartments, and to ensure their strict adherence to the highest approved security and safety standards.
