With an area of ​​456 km², the first general plan for northeastern Riyadh has been completed

The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh announced the completion of the initial master plan for the area northeast of the city of Riyadh, with a total area of ​​about 456 square kilometers, and a location linked to King Khalid International Airport, Wadi Al Sulay, and the Dammam and Janadriyah roads.

4 main principles

It sets a general vision for land uses in the region, and is based on a number of main principles, the most prominent of which is building a long-term urban model that allows for phased expansion, and designing integrated communities that combine housing and daily services, in addition to a balanced distribution between residential, economic, recreational, and natural areas.

The preparation of the plan is part of the long-term planning process for the expansion of the city of Riyadh, which continues its urban, population and economic growth as a capital undergoing rapid transformation.

Future expansion

The plan contributes to organizing one of the city’s future growth directions, keeping pace with its current and future needs, with a focus on raising the quality of life, enhancing green spaces and preserving natural valleys within balanced and interconnected planning.

He explained that the area located northeast of the city of Riyadh represents an important planning step within the path of developing the capital, and reflects the authority’s work to anticipate the city’s needs, organize its expansion, and prepare long-term plans that keep pace with the growth of Riyadh.

The Authority confirmed that the general plan for northeastern Riyadh represents an initial planning stage, and not an announcement of a new executive project, as it will be followed by subsequent planning stages and the preparation of detailed plans for the various regions by the relevant authorities. Any subsequent developments will be announced through the official channels of the Authority and the competent authorities.
