“Furjan Dubai”, “Al Ameen Service” and “Community Development Authority” conclude the fourth season of “Dubai Summer Camp”

The Furjan Dubai Foundation, Al Ameen Service, and the Community Development Authority in Dubai concluded the activities of the fourth season of “Dubai Summer Camp,” which was held in Dubai schools in Al Khawaneej and Al Barsha, in addition to the Hatta and Al Lisaili regions, during the period from 6 to 30 July, with the participation of more than 1,000 boys and girls in the age group from 4 to 15 years.
Over the course of four weeks, the camp provided an integrated summer experience that combined education and entertainment, through a diverse program of workshops and interactive activities that focused on developing the skills of children and adolescents, and enhancing their community, cultural, security and creative awareness.
35 governmental and private partners provided more than 1,000 workshops for children within five main themes, which included: the spirit of the nation, the sense of security, we will come from our sources, Dubai’s Little Heroes, and Made in Dubai, which reflected the camp’s vision of preparing a generation that is aware and committed to its national identity and capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the future.
The program also included a group of educational and entertaining trips that were designed to suit different age groups, as separate programs were allocated for children from 4 to 5 years old, and others for the group from 6 to 15 years old, to provide rich experiences that take into account the needs of each age stage and contribute to enhancing learning by doing.
An innovative program that prepares you for practical life
The fourth edition of the camp witnessed the creation of five interactive rooms for the first time, which allowed children to engage in educational experiences that simulate reality in innovative ways, and included the heritage room, the artificial intelligence room, the traffic room, the electronic games room, and the bedroom, which contributed to consolidating positive concepts and behaviors, and developing life skills through interactive learning.
In the context of preparing young people for practical life, the camp allocated a training program for the age group of 15 years and above, aiming to introduce them to different work environments, develop their professional and personal skills, in addition to qualifying them to participate in organizing events and to work as a liaison between the organizers and the participants.
Nine government agencies in Dubai participated in the training program: Dubai Culture, Dubai Police, the Ministry of Defence, the General Administration of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, the Emirates Aviation University, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Customs, Digital Dubai, and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, which provided practical and awareness programs that allowed participants to learn about the nature of work in government sectors and explore future career opportunities and paths.
The camp also hosted the “Little Freezer Trader” initiative, which was organized by the Furjan Dubai Foundation in cooperation with Dubai Municipality and the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him. It witnessed the participation of 50 projects managed by 82 children participating in the summer camp, with 31 projects in Al Khawaneej and 19 projects in Al Barsha, which gave the children the opportunity to practically apply the concepts of entrepreneurship. Developing sales, marketing, and project management skills in a stimulating educational environment.
More than 100 volunteers
The camp witnessed the participation of more than 100 male and female volunteers who contributed to organizing and managing various events and activities in the four camp sites in Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Hatta and Al Lisaili, where they played a pivotal role in receiving participants, organizing daily programs, and supporting the supervising teams, which contributed to providing an integrated and safe experience for children. Their participation embodied the values ​​of volunteer work and the spirit of social responsibility, and reflected the importance of empowering volunteers and involving them in community initiatives to enhance the culture of giving and teamwork.
Exceptional success and plans for expansion
For his part, Omar Al Falasi, General Supervisor of Al Ameen Service, said: “The fourth edition of the Dubai Summer Camp embodied an integrated model for investing in children through programs that combine awareness and practical application, which was clearly reflected in the participants’ behaviors and life skills, according to what we observed from the children and their parents at the conclusion of the camp activities.”
He added: “The Secretary’s Service was keen to make the security aspect an integral part of the camp experience, through interactive programs and activities that enhanced children’s awareness of the concepts of safety and responsibility, and established in them positive behaviors that help them protect themselves and deal with various situations with confidence and awareness, which contributes to preparing a generation that is more aware of its responsibilities towards itself and its society.”
Alia Al Shamlan, Director of Furjan Dubai, said: “We are proud of the achievements of the fourth edition of the Dubai Summer Camp, which recorded the largest participation of children since the camp’s launch, which reflects the growing confidence of families in the program, and the qualitative content it provides that combines fun and benefit. We have seen a clear impact of the activities and programs in developing the participants’ skills and enhancing their national and social values, which encourages us to expand the camp’s capacity during the next edition, thus providing the opportunity for a larger number of children to benefit from this experience.”
She added: “This edition witnessed a qualitative shift through the introduction of interactive rooms, which constituted an important educational addition that moved children from the method of reception to learning by doing, and contributed to consolidating many life concepts in innovative ways, thanks to the fruitful cooperation with our strategic partners, and the sponsors represented by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), and the Emirates Islamic Bank. We extend our sincere thanks to all the supporting and participating parties that played a major role in the success of this edition and coming up with it. At this distinguished level.”
In turn, Tamima Mohammed Al-Nisar, principal consultant for national identity programs at the Community Development Authority in Dubai, said: “During this edition, the Dubai Summer Camp demonstrated its ability to provide a community environment that brings together children from different regions in a framework of acquaintance, cooperation and teamwork, which contributed to enhancing their sense of belonging, developing communication skills and positive interaction between them, in addition to consolidating the values ​​of responsibility and respect for diversity.”
She added: “We are proud to partner in this program, which has had a positive impact on children and their families, and has contributed to providing an experience that enriches national identity through daily practice and interaction, in line with the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to build a more cohesive and prosperous society, by empowering families and preparing generations that adhere to their national values ​​and contribute effectively to serving their society.”
