Emirates Airlines launches "Crypto.com Pay" To enhance digital payment options for its customers

Dubai, July 28 / WAM / Emirates Airlines officially launched the “Crypto.com Pay” service, allowing its customers to use digital payment solutions when booking their flights through the carrier’s website and smart application.
This step comes as a culmination of the partnership announced between the two sides in July 2025, which included the signing of a memorandum of understanding to explore the integration of this service into Emirates Airlines’ digital payment systems.
According to a press release issued today, customers who have an account with “Crypto.com” can now choose this service as a means of payment when completing the reservation process. The service is currently available to eligible users in the United Arab Emirates for reservations priced and settled in Emirati dirhams, as payments are processed in accordance with the regulatory standards in force in the country.
This integration is operated through Crypto.com’s Dubai entity, which is the first virtual asset service provider to obtain a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license from the UAE Central Bank, operating within the regulatory framework of this license.
This launch supports Dubai’s cashless strategy within the framework of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to convert 90% of total financial transactions in the government and private sectors into digital transactions by the end of 2026.
Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Operations Officer at Emirates Airlines, stressed that the launch of this service embodies Emirates Airlines’ commitment to expanding customer options and giving them greater flexibility in the way they pay for their trips, keeping pace with the rapid transformations in payment patterns and digital behavior of travelers.
He explained that customers today, especially the younger generations who are more interactive with technology, expect a more flexible and seamless travel experience that starts from the moment of planning and booking via mobile phone, and extends to every point of contact with the carrier.
Kazim added that the transition of the partnership from the signing stage to the actual launch within a year reflects the clarity of vision and speed of implementation of the work teams on both sides, and embodies the vital role of the advanced regulatory environment in the UAE and Dubai, which allows innovation to be transformed into practical solutions that enhance customer experience, and supports the country’s position as a leading global center in financial technology and the digital economy.
For his part, Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, stated that the cooperation with Emirates Airlines represents an important milestone for the company and its payment service, noting that this partnership reflects the UAE’s pioneering approach to supporting innovation.
Mohammed Al-Hakim, President and General Manager of the region at Crypto.com, said that this launch represents a historic milestone for both sides, and embodies the result of months of work and joint coordination to transform the memorandum of understanding signed last year into a tangible reality that customers benefit from today.
Regarding the payment mechanism, “Crypto.com Pay” will appear as one of the payment options when customers reach this stage while booking their flights. When booking through the Emirates application, the customer will be transferred to the “Crypto.com” application to complete the payment process from his digital wallet, and then he will be automatically returned to the airline’s application to receive the reservation confirmation and the electronic ticket.
When booking via computers, the customer chooses the “Crypto.com Pay” service when paying, then scans the QR code shown on the booking page using the “Crypto.com” application and agrees to pay. After completing the process, the reservation confirmation and electronic ticket are issued directly.
