A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hits the Russian Far East

Today, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the Kamchatka region in the Russian Far East.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka Region reported, in a statement, according to the TASS news agency, that noticeable seismic activity was recorded in the Pacific Ocean with a magnitude of 5.1, and the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Kronotsky Bay, 155 kilometers northeast of Petropavlovsk – Kamchatsky. In the Russian Far East.
The statement added that residents felt the earthquake with a magnitude of two in some areas, and no material or human damage was recorded, while no threat of a tsunami was announced.
