The day after tomorrow.. The film “Letters of Sheikh Daraz” was screened at the Women and Memory Cinema Club

 The “Stat Stories” Club organizes “Women’s Cinema and Memory” The day after tomorrow, Wednesday, at six o’clock in the evening, a screening of the film “The Letters of Sheikh Daraz” Directed by Maggie Morgan, followed by an open discussion moderated by Salma Mubarak.

 

The film deals with the journey of Noha Al-Khouly, who, after the death of her great-grandfather, the prominent Al-Azhari sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Daraz, discovers an archive rich in letters. And diaries and personal photos, which opens a window for her to learn about his life and story through these documents.

 

The film is part of the club’s monthly activity that focuses On women’s issues in Arab cinema, by presenting selected films and holding direct discussions with their filmmakers, as the screening is held on the first Wednesday of every month, and gives the audience the opportunity to attend for free and participate in the dialogue with the female directors.
