المملكة: With a scientific programme.. King Salman Academy concludes the Arabic Language Month in Thailand

The King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language concluded the program (Arabic Language Month in the Kingdom of Thailand), which it organized from November 4 to December 2, in the cities of (Bangkok and Hat Yai).
It is a scientific program that includes a group of scientific programs and activities, which are held with several educational bodies, to develop curricula for teaching the Arabic language, improve the performance of its teachers, and enhance its presence, in cooperation with the Universities of Crook and Prince Sonkla (Patani State).
The Secretary-General of the Academy, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi noted that the Academy is honored by the constant support it receives from His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan – may God protect him – Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academy, for all of its programs and activities, in line with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program.

A scientific symposium and two panel discussions

The program included the organization of a number of activities, the most prominent of which was a scientific symposium on “Teaching the Arabic Language to Speakers of Other Languages,” which addressed 4 main axes: the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, the reality of Arabic language teaching institutions and curricula in the Kingdom of Thailand, and the challenges facing teachers. And learners of Arabic as non-native speakers in the Kingdom of Thailand.
In addition to linguistic dualism and the challenges of curricula for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

The activities also included two discussion panels on the use of technology in teaching the Arabic language, identifying the best available tools and applications, the most important tests used, and how to evaluate teachers teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
In addition to two introductory courses on the “Hamza Test” and the “Arabiya to the World” YouTube channel, they were presented at both universities. The first course focused on introducing the Hamza test, its procedures, and preparing for it, while the second dealt with the “Arabiya to the World” YouTube channel and its targeted skills.

Developing the skills of Arabic teachers

In the context of training, two courses were held to develop the skills of teachers of Arabic as non-native speakers in modern teaching strategies and methods, and 4 training courses for learners of Arabic as non-native speakers.
In addition to holding a scientific competition in public speaking in Arabic for non-native speakers, contestants from various Thai universities participated in it, and the winners were honored after careful judging, to ensure the integrity and transparency of the results.
The program also included holding a linguistic proficiency test for academic purposes, known as the “Hamza Test,” with the aim of enhancing the presence of the Arabic language, supporting its spread and use, and honoring those who excel in it.

The Kingdom’s efforts in serving the Arab world

Through this program, the Academy aims to introduce its activities in teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, highlight the Kingdom’s efforts in serving Arabic and its sciences around the world, work directly to train teachers, raise their teaching competencies, and achieve progress in the outcomes of learning the Arabic language among learners.
This program comes within the project “Scientific Programs on Teaching the Arabic Language,” which is supervised and organized by the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language.
Copies were implemented in several countries, including: the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Indonesia, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Federal Republic of Brazil, and the Republic of France.
While the Academy continues to expand its linguistic and cultural activities at the international level.

The strategic role of the complex

The implementation of the “Arabic Language Month in the Kingdom of Thailand” program confirms the Academy’s strategic role in supporting projects and initiatives related to the Arabic language, teaching it to non-native speakers, and enhancing cooperation between it and parties interested in teaching it to non-native speakers around the world.
And to enhance its mission to invest in opportunities to serve it, maintain its safety, support it verbally and in writing, strengthen its position globally, raise awareness of it, and facilitate its education and learning inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
