United Nations: The Palestinians suffer from an acute water shortage

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed that the situation in Gaza is worsening, as Palestinians suffer from an acute water shortage as a result of the extensive damage to infrastructure due to the ongoing war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip.

It stated that municipal data shows a decline in water production by 9% over the past month, with large quantities leaking due to faults in pipe networks.

The Palestinian Water Authority estimates that more than 80% of the water sector infrastructure has been damaged, including wells, desalination plants, distribution networks and sewage treatment facilities, further complicating the crisis.
