The Architecture and Design Arts Authority celebrated the launch of the “Design with Kindness” initiative, in conjunction with International Volunteer Day, corresponding to December 5, 2024, by holding a special forum this evening for the initiative that aims to build bridges of communication between practitioners and those interested in the architecture and design sector by offering volunteer opportunities in the various design sectors in “ The National Volunteer Work Platform, in which agencies providing volunteer opportunities are linked to volunteers.
The forum was opened with a speech by the CEO of the Architecture Arts and Design Authority, Sumaya Al-Sulaiman, in which she stressed the importance of the authority’s role in activating the design sector to serve society and what the Design with Kindness initiative represents as a basic pillar in promoting the culture of volunteer work in the Kingdom, as it is consistent with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030, which encourages volunteer work and aims to To empower society and develop its human potential.

The ceremony included a visual presentation highlighting the activation of the design culture to serve the community, and the Authority’s most prominent upcoming projects, which allowed attendees to understand the vision and goals it seeks to achieve.

The forum witnessed a dialogue session that brought together representatives from the Sakhaa Program of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Al Fawazen for Community Service, and Dar Al Uloom University to discuss “the challenges and opportunities and knowledge of best practices to bridge the gap between design and volunteer opportunities and ways of cooperation between the government, private and academic sectors,” in addition to presenting a number of Among the dialogue sessions that discussed activating design to serve society, presented by local and international experts to enhance the concept of charity and inspire the sector community to participate in the initiative.
