The German government rejects the Amnesty report that the occupation committed genocide in Gaza

 

 Today, Friday, the German government rejected Amnesty International’s assertion that Israel had committed the crime of “genocide.” against the Palestinians in Gaza. German Foreign Minister Sebastian Fischer claimed before journalists when asked about the organization’s report that “the issue of genocide presupposes a clear intention to eliminate an ethnic group.” I still do not see any clear intention of this kind and therefore I cannot agree with the conclusions of the report.”

 

 

The German minister claimed that “ We take the accusations in the report very seriously and are currently analyzing them.

 

 

 

He continued “We have repeatedly urged the Israeli government to make changes to its military operations in Gaza and to better fulfill its obligations to protect civilians.” He considered that “we still see that Israel is acting in self-defense against Hamas, which started this conflict through its terrorist attacks.” The human rights organization, which is based in London, published a 300-page report on the Israeli war on Gaza, noting that its conclusions are based on satellite images documenting the destruction, field work and field reports from the people of Gaza, in addition to statements issued by senior officials in the administration of Gaza.
