Drugs worth half a million euros hidden inside trees were seized in Germany

German customs officers at Cologne/Bonn Airport in the west of the country found quantities of marijuana and hashish, valued at more than 500,000 euros (530,000 US dollars).
They explained that it was hidden inside small Christmas trees and toys.

Marijuana and hashish drugs

The drugs, which weighed about 19 kilograms of marijuana and about 6 kilograms of hashish, were discovered in the early hours of yesterday, Friday.

Hiding drug shipments

“Smugglers continually attempt to hide large drug shipments inside Christmas parcels,” the customs authorities report said.
The report indicated that the drugs seized in eight separate shipments were executed.
