"Emirates Aluminium" The work of constructing smelting cells begins with technology "EX"

Abu Dhabi, December 9 / WAM / Emirates Global Aluminium, today announced the start of foundation work to establish 10 experimental reduction cells operating with EX technology, the next generation of aluminum smelting technologies developed by the company, and which will be used at the Al Taweelah site to showcase the latest innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the industrial sector. Aluminum.
Production in experimental reduction cells that operate with the new technology is expected to begin in the first half of 2025, while the company aims to use EX technology in the large-scale manufacturing process, including Fourth Industrial Revolution applications, by 2028.
The new EX technology aims to increase production capacity by up to 22% while reducing energy consumption and emissions. It was designed based on two different modes of operations, one to increase productivity and the other to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Its design is also based on sensors and a communication network based on the Internet of Things. To facilitate direct data collection.
The new technology is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions per ton of aluminum by about 5% for the productivity-enhancing design, and about 12% for the energy-efficient design.
EGA intends to integrate all applications of current Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies into EX technology, and develop modern digital technologies based on artificial intelligence and advanced data analysis tools.
The company aims with this increase in sensors and data to benefit from artificial intelligence in the automatic control of smelting cells, cranes, and vehicles, which contributes to improving the efficiency and integration of smelting cell line operations, and reducing the rate of malfunctions and disturbances in them. Machine learning applications will work in the continuous development of operations and increasing… Accurate task planning to reach the full theoretical performance potential of EX technology.
Abdel Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, confirmed that the company has been at the forefront of innovation in developing its own technologies for aluminum smelting operations for thirty years, explaining that the new achievement represented in developing the innovative EX technology is a prominent step towards achieving the company’s sustainable development goals by adopting On the applications of the fourth industrial wealth, and supporting the formation of a sustainable future for the aluminum industry.
