Dubai Chambers is discussing with 100 companies to enhance the smooth movement of goods and freight

Dubai Chambers, in cooperation with the Dubai Customs Department and the Dubai Ports World Group (DP World), recently organized an expanded business meeting with 100 officials from major local and international companies operating in the emirate, with the aim of getting to know closely the most important logistical requirements for various economic sectors in light of the exceptional circumstances the world is witnessing.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, was attended by the Director General of Dubai Customs, Dr. Abdullah Bu Sinad, the Director General of Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, and the CEO and General Manager of DB World in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Ahmed Yousef Al Hassan, in addition to leaders of private sector companies operating in various economic sectors.

The meeting witnessed an interactive dialogue on the most prominent challenges related to the shipping and logistics services sector, and a package of practical ideas and solutions were discussed in cooperation with the relevant partners, to support the efforts made to ensure the smooth movement of all goods and commodities, and enhance the efficiency of supply chains.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, said: “Dubai’s integrated logistics services system has established the confidence of the local and global business community in the exceptional efficiency and readiness that characterizes the emirate’s economy. It has contributed, along with proactive government policies, close cooperation between the public and private sectors, and high institutional flexibility, to enhancing the private sector’s ability to face the urgent challenges created by the geopolitical conditions taking place in the region and the world, thus establishing Dubai as a major hub on the map of international trade.”

He added: “Dubai Chambers continues its firm commitment to empowering companies operating in the emirate and enhancing their competitive capabilities in all circumstances, based on the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors, which constitutes a fundamental pillar for supporting the flexibility of the national economy and the sustainability of its growth.”

Al Mansouri continued: “Through intensive and permanent coordination with all concerned parties, we are keen to provide qualitative support to protect the interests of the business community and enhance the flexibility and readiness of all economic sectors.”

The meeting comes within the framework of a series of intensive meetings organized by Dubai Chambers with the private sector to follow up on the reality of the business system in light of the current changes, anticipate the prospects for the next stage, and strengthen effective mechanisms to support the readiness of all sectors to keep pace with global challenges. The chambers are also working to intensify joint work, to keep pace with the current circumstances, identify the changing requirements of the sectors, and review the optimal mechanisms to support companies and enhance their competitiveness.
