Opening of the conference on the role of traditional and complementary medicine in health care

ABU DHABI, 10TH DECEMBER / WAM / The activities of the International Conference “The Role of Traditional and Complementary Medicine in Future Healthcare Prospects” opened today in Abu Dhabi, which is organized by the Sheikh Zayed International Award for Traditional and Complementary Medicine and continues until December 12th at Al Jazi at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Over the course of three days, the conference discusses 28 specialized research papers by specialized experts from different countries of the world, with the participation of more than 300 participants from inside and outside the country. On its third closing day, it includes honoring the winners of the third session of the award.

His Excellency Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al-Haidan said that the Third International Conference on Traditional and Complementary Medicine, which is held under the slogan “The Role of Traditional and Complementary Medicine as Emerging Prospects for Health Care” represents an important step towards strengthening this vital field.

He added that traditional and complementary medicine is not only a cultural heritage rooted in history, but rather an effective tool that has proven its ability to provide innovative and natural solutions to treat diseases and promote public health, especially with the growing global health challenges, as the world has become aware of the importance of integration between this ancient medicine and modern medicine to achieve care. Comprehensive and sustainable health.

He pointed out that the conference seeks to enhance scientific research and document the effectiveness of traditional treatments through reliable clinical studies, highlight innovations and successful experiences that enrich the field of traditional and complementary medicine, and build bridges of cooperation between traditional and modern medicine to enhance integration between them, in a way that serves human health and well-being.

He called on scientists, experts and practitioners to invest in this platform to enhance partnership, exchange ideas and experiences, and joint cooperation to achieve future visions that make a tangible difference in human life, and to be ambassadors for this future trend to integrate traditional and complementary medicine with modern medicine, which can only be achieved through cooperation and interaction between… Various concerned parties, including doctors, researchers, decision-makers, and educational and health institutions, to contribute to improving public health by exchanging knowledge and experiences, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the advancement of traditional and complementary medicine.

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Yahya Khoja, a Saudi community medicine, preventive medicine and health media consultant, said that the conference aims to review the latest scientific studies and strengthen health policies related to traditional medicine.

In the opening session, the conference sponsor honored the heads of the participating delegations.
