A gold and a bronze raise the UAE’s tally to 4 medals in "Asian track"

Manila, March 28 / WAM / The UAE National Cycling Team, for the People of Determination category, raised its tally to 4 medals (one gold, two silver, and a bronze) in the Asian Track Championships, currently being held in Tagaytay City, Philippines, after adding a gold and a bronze medal in today’s competitions.
The gold medal came from Abdullah Salem Al-Balushi, who won the elimination race in the men’s “C4” category, after finishing in first place ahead of Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibrimov, who ranked second, and Indonesian Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin, who came in third. Al-Balushi achieved his second medal in the championship, after the silver medal in the men’s kilo race for the same category yesterday.
In the women’s competition, Salama Al Khatri won the bronze medal in the “C5” category, coming in third place, behind Uzbek Nurkabilyova Jasmnia, who won gold, and Indian Leesha Das, who won silver. Al Khatri continued her rise to the podium after winning silver in the women’s kilo race for the same category yesterday.
Abdullah Salem Al Balushi confirmed that winning the gold medal was the result of work and preparation during the last period, pointing out that the elimination race requires high concentration and precise management of the course of the race, adding that he was keen to maintain a steady rhythm and wait for the appropriate moment for the decision.
These results reflect the development of the team’s level and its ability to deal with track races, especially elimination races that depend on physical readiness and focus, which reflects the quality of preparations that preceded participation.
