Declared The Ministry of Education announced the controls governing the promotions of educational job holders for the year 2026 AD, confirming that the final date for fulfilling the promotion requirements is May 3, 2026 AD, corresponding to Dhul-Qi’dah 16, 1447 AH.

Promotion includes the three educational ranks: teacher, practicing teacher, and advanced teacher, as promotion decisions will be issued automatically to all those who meet the approved conditions and controls.

The Ministry stressed that It is necessary for teachers to ensure the accuracy of their data and communicate with the competent authorities well before this date, as any completion requests that arrive after the specified date will not be considered.

Conditions for educational ranks

Promotion to the rank of advanced or expert teacher requires obtaining a university degree as a minimum, with the completion of a period of not less than six years at the current rank for holders of a bachelor’s degree, five years for holders of a master’s degree, and four years for holders of a doctorate, and these periods are reduced by one year upon promotion from the rank of advanced teacher to the rank of teacher. Expert.

It is also required to obtain the necessary professional license, achieve the minimum professional development points, and that the job performance evaluation for the last three years should not be less than a very good rating or its equivalent.

Teacher differentiation criteria

The Ministry has determined the comparison criteria for promotion from the rank of teacher to practicing teacher based on the highest total in the points of three main elements: the professional license degree in a specialty, the professional license degree in general, and the average job performance evaluation points for the last three years.

The promotion process takes place automatically after differentiation and according to the specialization needs of the teacher’s workplace. These standards aim to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of educational ranks based on professional merit and continuous outstanding field performance.

Rules for equalization

The Ministry explained that when points are equal between candidates for promotion, comparison is made through six carefully arranged elements, starting with the highest average score in evaluating job performance for the last three years, then the oldest on the date of appointment, followed by the oldest in the year of graduation for the bachelor’s qualification.

The remaining elements include the professional license degree, specialization, then the degree The professional license is one year, and finally the highest in professional development.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry adopted the academic years 1443 AH, 1444 AH, 1445 AH, and 1446 AH as a reference period for evaluating job performance approved for promotion.
