"Punching" He wins a title "Godolphin Mile" In the 2026 Dubai World Cup

Dubai, March 28 / WAM / The Saudi horse “Punching” was crowned champion of the “Godolphin Mile” race for purebred hybrid horses, category two, the second evening race of the 30th Dubai World Cup 2026, which was held today, Saturday, at the “Meydan” international track.

“Punching”, owned by Sherif Mohammed Al-Hariri, David Jacobson and Lawrence Roman, and under the supervision of coach David Jacobson and led by jockey Sylvester de Sousa, succeeded in winning the race that extended for a distance of 1,600 meters on the sand track, and whose prizes amounted to one million dollars, sponsored by “Emaar”, with the participation of 12 elite horses.

“Punching” finished the race with a time of 1:38:23 minutes, grabbing first place and a cash prize of $580,000.

The Saudi horse “Commissioner King,” owned by Faisal Mohammed Al-Qahtan, under the supervision of trainer Bobat Simar and driven by veteran Tug O’Shea, came in second place, achieving a prize of $200,000, while third place came in the Irish horse “Mendelsohn Bay,” owned by the Sotted and Butted Racing Syndicate, under the supervision of Bobat Simar and driven by Richard Mullen, and won a financial prize of $100,000.
