Officially… Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia will organize the Men’s World Cup in 2034, while the 2030 edition will be held in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with three South American countries hosting one match each.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the decision after an unusual virtual conference, and one file was submitted to host the 2030 edition and another to organize the 2034 edition, and the rights to organize the two editions were granted by acclamation.
Regarding the 2030 edition, Infantino said: “We are bringing football to more countries and the number of participating teams has not reduced the quality, but in fact has enhanced the opportunity.”
The 2030 World Cup, which will be held on three continents and six countries: Morocco, Spain and Portugal, will witness Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay hosting matches to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the start of the tournament.
Uruguay hosted the first World Cup in 1930, and Argentina and Spain have hosted the finals before, while Portugal, Paraguay and Morocco are hosting the tournament for the first time.
Four years later, Saudi Arabia will become the second country from the Gulf region to host the tournament, which is held every four years, 12 years after its neighbor Qatar hosted the 2022 edition.
In 2023, FIFA announced that the 2034 World Cup would be held in Asia or Oceania, and the Asian Football Confederation announced its support for the Saudi bid.
Australia and Indonesia had also entered into talks about submitting a joint bid, but withdrew.
FIFA announced in 2023 that the two bids submitted to host the two tournaments would be by acclamation.
