Personal reasons ended Mascherano’s career with Inter Miami

The American club, Inter Miami, announced the departure of Argentine Javier Mascherano from the position of coach of the team. This surprising move came only four months after Mascherano led Lionel Messi’s teammates to the American League Cup title.

Inter Miami explained in an official statement on the X platform that Mascherano, who previously teamed with Lionel Messi in Barcelona and the Argentine national team before taking over as coach, decided to leave his position for personal reasons.

He continued: “Javier Mascherano has decided to end his career as a head coach. A champion who will remain, along with his staff, an integral part of the Inter Miami family, and whose name will remain forever linked to the team.”

For his part, Mascherano said in a statement issued by Inter Miami: “I would like to thank the club for the trust it placed in my person, and every employee in the system for the collective effort made, and I especially thank the players who made it possible for us to live unforgettable moments.”

This resignation comes less than two weeks after Inter Miami opened its new stadium near Miami International Airport, a stadium that witnessed the team draw in the first two matches it played in it.
