Time magazine chooses Donald Trump as Person of the Year 2024

US President-elect Donald Trump rang the opening bell on Thursday at the New York Stock Exchange after Time magazine chose him as Person of the Year for the second time.
The honor for Trump, the businessman-turned-politician, is a measure of his extraordinary return from his status as a former president who refused to accept his election defeat four years ago to an elected president who won the election decisively in November.

Trump spoke at the stock market before the bell rang for the first time, and described it as a “great honor.”
He said: “Time Magazine… getting this honor for the second time… I think I like it more this time, actually.”

Trump expressed his support for some figures as he chose the members of his next administration, including his nominee for Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, and after his announced policies, including a pledge he made this week that the federal government would issue urgent permits, including environmental approvals, for projects and construction work costing more than $ Billion dollars.
