30% increase in deaths in France during the heat wave

The 30% figure reflects the extent of the health repercussions of the heat wave that struck France for approximately 10 days, during which three days witnessed the highest temperatures ever recorded in the country.

The health authority had announced an additional thousand deaths above the usual rate, but this number only included the end of week, and the new report covers the entire week, even though the heat wave began a few days before that.
