Fundamental changes in Americans’ lifestyles due to Corona

It compares the latest data issued by the most comprehensive survey of American lives in the years 2014-2018-2019-2023-, that is, before the Corona pandemic and during the spread of the virus.
American Community Survey data show the extent to which lifestyles and family relationships have changed as a result of the pandemic, and other facts.
The survey, which included 3.5 million households, covers more than 40 topics, including ancestry, fertility, marital status, mobility, veteran status, disability and housing.

Effects resulting from the pandemic

Data issued by the US Census Bureau showed a decrease in the number of grandparents living with and caring for their grandchildren, and a decrease in the number of young children who go to educational homes before school age.
The number of people moving from their homes increased in the first half of the 2020s compared to the latter part of the first decade of the same century, reflecting some of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Schools closed at the height of the pandemic

The Statistics Office said that the decline in the number of young children enrolled in pre-school educational centers stems from a lack of willingness to send them to schools, and the closure of many schools at the height of the pandemic.
The office added in a separate report: “These data show how the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on education patterns in the early childhood years.
Future research will show whether this is the beginning of a long-term trend or whether enrollment will return to previous levels.”

Continuing aging

Americans continued to age, as the average age rose to 38.7 from 37.9, and the percentage of senior citizens in the country rose to 16.8% from 15.2%.
The percentage of families who have a computer increased to 95% from about 89%, as did the percentage of families who have a broadband connection to approximately 90% from 80%.
The median home value jumped from $249,400 to $303,400 nationwide.
