Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout: The UAE is trusted by everyone to host world championships

Abu Dhabi, December 13 / WAM / Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation and President of Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club, confirmed that the UAE enjoys the confidence of the international community to host world championships thanks to the support of the wise leadership and the cooperation of sports councils and federations.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout said, in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the occasion of hosting the Asian Individual Chess Championship for men and women in the amateur category, that 600 players, both male and female, from 33 countries around the world participated in the tournament during the period from 14 to 23 December in the city of Al Ain reflects the country’s status and its power of influence, pointing out that the Asian Confederation has adopted this tournament since 2010, and it is organized annually in countries. He pointed out that the UAE, as it organizes this edition, wishes success to the country’s male and female players, to prove their worth in the competitions, with expectations of achieving positive results for them, pointing out that the level of participants allows them to gain experience, develop and obtain advanced positions.
He explained that the Asian Chess Federation is one of the strongest federations in the world, thanks to the development the game is witnessing in the major continents of the world, with the support and cooperation of everyone at the level of federations and clubs, and advanced plans and programmes.
