Khoja to Al-Youm: The Kingdom is witnessing an unprecedented cultural movement that attracts the attention of the world

The former Minister of Culture and Information, poet and writer, Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja, explained to Al-Youm that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing an unprecedented movement at the world level in all fields, the most important of which are culture, art, cinema, and scientific movement.
He added, during his presence at the Jeddah Book Fair, that this activity is continuing at all levels, putting the world in the heart of the Kingdom, saying: “The announcement of the Kingdom’s hosting of the 2034 World Cup came, and we thank God for what we have achieved.”
Khoja praised the efforts of the Ministry of Culture, which works to develop cultural events every year and the commendable effort it makes year after year, noting that the publishing houses that participate in the book fairs are numerous, with the presence of visitors from all categories, and the address of Jeddah Reads is a title that suits what the governorate is witnessing.

Khoja, who was born in 1942 in Mecca, was known for his many contributions in the fields of literature, culture and politics.
He is considered one of the most prominent poets and diplomats in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he held many prestigious positions, most notably: “Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to several countries such as Turkey, Russia, Lebanon, and Morocco,” and Minister of Culture and Information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2009 and 2014.

During his tenure as Minister of Culture and Information, Khoja worked to strengthen the Saudi cultural scene by supporting local arts and creativity, and developing the media in line with global transformations.
He also published several collections of poetry that received great acclaim, such as: “Your Tenderness – The Torment of Revelation – The Seed of Meaning.”
