Sultan bin Sulayem inaugurates the new headquarters of the Ports and Customs Corporation

His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai Maritime City, which took into account the application of standard specifications during the design and construction processes in accordance with LEED standards. “-LEED” Gold is the highest global green building recognized by the US Green Building Council “USGBC”.

The building system, designed according to the highest green standards, was taken into account to improve the quality of the indoor environment, reduce water consumption, and improve energy efficiency, while the new headquarters can accommodate more than 1,500 employees and provides modern facilities that meet the needs of more than 300 customers and visitors daily, in addition to allocating an independent building for parking. Cars with a capacity of more than 700 spaces.

The opening was attended by His Excellency Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Corporation, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Bu Sinnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, His Excellency Abdullah bin Demaithan, Executive Director and General Manager of DP World (DP World) for the GCC region, and Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO. In his speech on this occasion, His Excellency Sultan bin Sulayem stressed that the new headquarters represents a milestone in the journey of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, which began in 1886 with the establishment of the Al Fardah Department, “the mother of the departments,” to manage commercial and customs affairs in Dubai. He said, “This headquarters is a model of innovation and sustainability. It was designed to achieve the best standards of energy efficiency and the environment to be an ideal work environment that combines providing comfort and luxury for employees and enhancing efficiency in providing services to customers.“.

He pointed out that the new headquarters is considered a new vibrant architectural icon in Port Rashid in Dubai. One of the most important and oldest ports in Dubai with its modern and innovative design.

He added, “From the beginning, we were keen for this headquarters to be a symbol of development, embodying our future vision in strengthening Dubai’s position as a global business center, and reflecting the corporation’s core values.”“.

For his part, His Excellency Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Corporation, stressed that the opening of the new headquarters is an important addition and a starting point towards more achievements that enhance the position of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation at the local and global levels, stressing that this step comes within the framework of achieving the Corporation’s vision towards… Digital transformation and institutional excellence, appreciating the great efforts made to complete the project on time.

Following the opening, His Excellency Sultan bin Sulayem and the Foundation’s leaders inspected the various facilities and departments included in the new headquarters, which include the museum, the library, the Happiness Council, the Innovation Hall, and employee offices..
