Opening of the new headquarters of the Ports and Customs Corporation in Port Rashid, Dubai

The Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Sultan bin Sulayem, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai Maritime City, in which the application of standard specifications was taken into account during the design and construction processes, in accordance with the “LEED” gold standards, the highest in the world for green and recognized buildings. By the US Green Building Council.

The building system, designed according to the highest green standards, was taken into account to improve the quality of the internal environment, reduce water consumption, and improve energy efficiency, while the new headquarters can accommodate more than 1,500 employees and provides modern facilities that meet the needs of more than 300 customers and visitors daily, in addition to allocating an independent building. The parking capacity exceeds 700 spaces.

Sultan bin Sulayem stressed that the new headquarters represents a milestone in the journey of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, which began in 1886 with the establishment of the Al Fardah Department (the mother of departments) to manage commercial and customs affairs in Dubai. He said: “This headquarters is a model of innovation and sustainability, and was designed to achieve the best standards of energy efficiency and the environment, to be an ideal work environment that combines providing comfort and luxury for employees, and enhancing efficiency in providing services to customers.”

Bin Sulayem pointed out that the new headquarters is a new architectural icon that is vibrant in Port Rashid in Dubai, one of the most important and oldest ports in Dubai with its modern and innovative design. He said: “We were keen from the beginning that this headquarters be a symbol of development, embodying our future vision in strengthening Dubai’s position as a center.” Globally for business, and reflects the core values ​​of the organization.”

For his part, the CEO of the Corporation, Nasser Al-Neyadi, stressed that the opening of the new headquarters is an important addition and a starting point towards more achievements that enhance the position of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation at the local and global levels, stressing that this step comes within the framework of achieving the Corporation’s vision towards digital transformation. And institutional excellence, appreciating the great efforts made to complete the project on time.
