Launching of the third session of the Hamdan EFQM Global Education Award

Dubai, December 16 / WAM / The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences announced the launch of the third session of the Hamdan EFQM Global Education Award in cooperation with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

The award aims to improve the quality of education and educational outcomes in UAE schools and schools around the world, by adopting the standards and axes included in the model, which was designed by an international team of specialists in accordance with international best practices.

Her Excellency Khawla Ahmed Bahlouk, Assistant Executive Director of the Excellence Sector, said that the Hamdan EFQM International Educational Award comes within the framework of the various initiatives and programs organized by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, with the aim of supporting the efforts of state institutions in achieving leadership in the education sector, developing it and advancing it. With its quality, in addition to launching training programs and awards in the fields of research and studies to develop educational staff and students and stimulate excellence and innovation.

She added that by establishing partnerships with leading educational institutions around the world, the institution seeks to improve the quality of educational performance and keep it up to date with the latest international standards and practices.

Her Excellency expressed her pride in cooperating with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in working to develop the Hamdan EFQM educational model and applying the standards provided by the model, which has proven its effectiveness and efficiency in improving the quality of education and educational outcomes.

Those in charge of the award explained that implementation takes place in two phases. The first includes teacher training and continues until January 2025, where participating schools are trained on the standards of the global Hamdan EFQM model. The second phase includes school evaluation and continues from January to March 2025, and includes field visits to each school. A school to evaluate performance. The evaluation is carried out according to the specified criteria, and the level of participating schools will be announced during the year 2025.

Six schools from the UAE are participating in the Hamdan EFQM International Education Award, including Zayed Educational Complex / Al Barsha – Dubai, Dubai Modern Education School – Dubai, Al Manar Model School (Second Cycle) for Girls – Sharjah, Umm Ghafa School – Al Ain, and Zayed Educational Complex – Dibba. Fujairah, Zayed Educational Complex – Al Montazah, Ajman, and a Gulf school from the State of Qatar, Qatar School of Science and Technology (Doha). These stages are implemented by experts who specialize in the field of education.
