Humaid Hussein Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Children’s Shura Council, Abida Ahmed, Vice President, and Reem Al Naqbi, Secretary, participated in the session, along with a number of council members – Juri Jassim, Khaled Al Naqbi, Maitha Al Mazrouei, and Muhammad Salem Al Mazrouei.

Humaid Hussein Al Zaabi stressed that Exposure has become an inspiring and comprehensive educational platform, expressing his happiness at providing the opportunity for members of the Sharjah Children’s Shura Council to express themselves in a session that forms their own lens that narrates the world as they see it with their eyes, express their ideas and dreams, present their opinions, and participate in building their society, to which they are proud to belong, with the vision of the wise leadership that taught them that ambition has no limits.

The session presented children as makers of meaning and interpreters of the image, not just recipients of it, in a presentation that reflects maturity in reading visual narratives and enhances the active participation of new generations in important discussions.

Abida Ahmed discussed the role of the image as a language of expression, pointing out that the image speaks all the languages of the world and does not need translation and long explanations because it is linked to the common characteristics of all people. She stressed that every person reads the image in his own way according to his experience, age and culture.

For her part, Reem Al-Naqbi highlighted the ability of the image to convey feelings and emotions directly to viewers, noting that behind every image there is an important feeling, joy, sadness, enthusiasm, or curiosity. She stressed that the images express the human feeling and tell unique stories.

Khaled Al-Naqbi and Juri Jassim discussed the topic “The Role of the Image in Building National Identity and Values: How does the image tell about our country and the history of our ancestors without us writing a single letter?” and how the image can be a powerful language in which children express their identity and discover the world around them in an interactive and fun way.

Both Maitha and Mohammed Al Mazrouei addressed the topic “The role of the image in developing imagination, creativity, and discovering the world… How does the image help us imagine new things or places we have not seen before?” and presented a group of images showing the image’s relationship with imagination.

The Chairman of the Sharjah Children’s Shura Council expressed his pride in belonging to the council, which constitutes a platform that allows them to express themselves and their influential opinions, thanking “Xposure” for its belief that the image reflects the child’s thought and creativity.
