Sharjah Chamber motivates the private sector to adopt social responsibility practices
Sharjah, December 16 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with “Majra” – the National Fund for Social Responsibility, today organized an introductory workshop under the title “Impact Laboratories” with the aim of highlighting the most prominent challenges facing the private sector in the field of social responsibility and spreading awareness of its principles and supporting and motivating them. The business sector to actively participate in social responsibility practices.
The workshop, which was held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Chamber in the presence of Jamal Saeed Bouznjal, Director of the Corporate Communications Department at the Chamber, and a number of officials from various government agencies and representatives of the private sector, witnessed a presentation of the strategic objectives of the National Fund for Social Responsibility “Majar” and its most prominent programs and projects that it launches with the aim of managing and directing the efforts of the private sector towards… Initiatives with national priorities aligned with environmental, social and governance indicators and sustainable development goals.
The workshop highlighted the most important challenges facing companies in implementing social responsibility initiatives and ways to direct their expertise and resources to support key social priorities such as education, healthcare, environment, infrastructure, and innovative solutions that help support the efforts and contributions of the private sector towards approved programs and projects related to social responsibility with a sustainable impact.
The workshop also included a presentation of the concept of added value for companies, the most important social responsibility initiatives they implement, and the extent of their commitment to environmental, social and governance principles.
