“Light of Riyadh”: 60 works of art from 18 countries that lit up the sky of the capital

Under the slogan “Between the Pleiades and the Pleiades,” 18 Saudi artists and 43 international artists participated through artistic works dedicated to the centers or new ones that were commissioned specifically for this celebration. The celebration also included the installation of a huge artistic light installation at the top of the Al Faisaliah Tower, transforming Riyadh into a sparkling celebration in which art met innovation.
Among the distinguished works was “Higher Power” by international artist Chris Levine, which illuminated the capital with a laser beam extending from the top of the Al Faisaliah Tower; The work “Changing Perspective” by artist Maryam Tariq in the Digital City, which reflects intellectual changes by highlighting the clarity of the image when looking from different angles.
Cultural transformation in the Kingdom
Also shining was the work of “Atheer” by the United Visual Artists group, which presented a stunning display of drones at the King Abdulaziz Historical Center. Also among the prominent works was “The Fifth Pyramid” by artist Rashid Al Shasha’i, which embodied the profound cultural transformation that the Kingdom is witnessing.
Executive Director of the “Riyadh Art” program, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Hazzani, said: “The Noor Riyadh 2024 celebration shed light on man’s relationship with the stars, and their essential role in his connection with the universe around him, encouraging dialogue through the universal language of art. A global artistic experience
Nouf Al-Munif, director of the Nour Al-Riyadh celebration, said that Nour Al-Riyadh this year attracted an elite group of local and international artists, presenting an exceptional international artistic experience.
On the sidelines of the celebration, a community partnership program was presented that attracted more than 52,000 participants. The program included a variety of workshops, dialogue sessions, family activities for different age groups, and guided tours that contributed to enriching visitors’ artistic and cultural experiences, including a series of enriching events prepared to inspire visitors. And stimulate their interaction with art.
These efforts have resulted in unparalleled success, thanks to a specialized team that includes an exceptional group of curators, artists, and mentors who played a role in conveying the messages of the artworks.

The Nour Riyadh celebration reinforces the Kingdom’s position and its endeavor to enhance creativity, highlight the importance of public art, and stimulate cultural dialogue among members of society and visitors from all over the world.
Through the “Noor of Riyadh” celebration, the program continues its efforts to highlight the city of Riyadh as a global cultural destination. It is noteworthy that since 2019, the “Riyadh Art” program has presented more than 500 artworks by more than 500 artists, attracting millions of visitors.
