The Cairo Short Film Festival held a symposium as part of its official activities at the Artistic Creativity Center at the Cairo Opera House, in which it hosted Dr. Atef Abdel Latif, the tourism expert, Vice President of the Marsa Alam Investors Association and President of the Travel and Tourism Association of Travelers. The symposium was moderated by journalist writer Prince Abaza, President of the Alexandria Film Festival.

 

 

Prince Abaza said, “We know that Cinema and tourism are complementary to each other, and we attract foreign artists to attend the Alexandria Festival with tourism and tourist attractions in Alexandria. Therefore, it is necessary to create a kind of integration between cinema, tourism, and antiquities.

The participants in the symposium revealed a number of challenges that must be solved, including the high fees for photography inside. The symposium resulted in a number of recommendations to serve the industry and cinema, which are: Coordination to hold a meeting between the Chamber of Film Industry, the Federation of Tourist Chambers, the Federation of Artistic Syndicates, and those concerned with the tourism sector to prepare a working paper aimed at achieving integration between tourism, antiquities, and the film industry and providing all facilities from the state.
