"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Applications for the Research Grant Program are extended until April 30

Abu Dhabi, April 3, 2026 – The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced today the extension of the period for receiving applications for the Research Grants Program, until April 30, 2026, to allow more time for researchers and innovators wishing to participate, especially in light of the increasing demand for registration in the sixth edition of the program for the year 2026, which reflects the growing interest in the knowledge initiatives launched by the Center, and confirms its continued commitment to supporting scientific research in the Arabic language, and enhancing its presence in various fields of knowledge.

The Center called on researchers and those interested to benefit from the program by filling out the application form through the official page on the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre’s website, in accordance with the approved conditions and standards, which contributes to attracting solid research projects that support the development of knowledge production in the Arabic language.

The extension of the application period comes in the context of the Centre’s keenness to accommodate this high demand, and to provide the opportunity for a wider segment of researchers to participate, thus enhancing the position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a global center for knowledge production in the Arabic language, and supporting the UAE’s trends in consolidating the knowledge economy, and enabling the Arabic language to be an effective tool in scientific research and specialized writing.

The research grants program aims to support the writing of scientific books, and encourage Emirati and Arab researchers and Arabic speakers to submit qualitative projects that contribute to consolidating the status of the Arabic language in the fields of research and writing, and building a solid knowledge base that enriches the Arab library and keeps pace with accelerating scientific and cultural transformations.

The program annually provides between 6 and 8 research grants, with a total value of 600 thousand dirhams, for research that adheres to approved academic standards. Its fields include six main fields: Arabic lexicon, school curricula, literature and criticism, applied and computer linguistics, teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, and editing manuscripts.

The program requires that the submitted research be written exclusively in Arabic, and that the project size not be less than 50,000 words, while adhering to the approved academic standards in terms of clarity of the theoretical and methodological frameworks, originality and modernity of the proposal, provided that the work must not be previously published or supported by another party.

Proposals are also subject to careful scientific evaluation according to international standards that take into account the quality of the research, its expected impact, and the extent of its connection to the center’s strategy, in addition to the research path of the participating researchers, in order to ensure the production of scientific books of sustainable cognitive value.

Since its launch in 2021; The program provided about 35 research grants, as part of the Insights Series for Research and Studies, which aims to publish distinguished research works that won grants within the “Research Grants Program.”

The series supports scientific research in various fields of the Arabic language, and contributes to enriching the Arabic library with qualitative and specialized publications.

Its previous session also witnessed a wide international response, represented by the reception of 516 applications for participation from 36 countries, which reflects the growing confidence in the cultural and knowledge initiatives launched by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its role in supporting scientific research in the Arabic language at the global level.
