"Abu Dhabi Environment" It is looking to enhance efforts to protect ecosystems with Qatar

Doha, December 19 / WAM / A delegation from the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, headed by Her Excellency Dr. Sheikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Authority, during a visit to the State of Qatar, discussed ways to enhance joint efforts to protect and preserve ecosystems.
During meetings with officials of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and Qatar University, the Authority reviewed its projects and achievements in the areas of preserving and preserving species and ecosystems in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in addition to monitoring and controlling the quality of water, air and soil, in addition to discussing areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance environmental sustainability and exchange scientific expertise.
Coinciding with this visit, the marine research vessel “Jeun” affiliated with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi sailed to Doha, where it received visitors from several governmental and academic bodies in Qatar, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Municipality, Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, in addition to the embassies of the Emirates and Bahrain to… Doha.
The Authority’s delegation reviewed the advanced technologies used on board the ship “Jion,” which was launched in January 2023 and includes six specialized laboratories for studying marine samples, in addition to a remotely operated vehicle capable of diving underwater, which enhances its ability to effectively conduct regional marine studies.
The delegation also visited the Qatari research ship “Jinan” and learned about its research capabilities and achievements in the field of marine studies, which contributes to opening new horizons for joint research cooperation between the two sides.
Her Excellency Sheikha Al Dhaheri said that this visit represents an important step in strengthening scientific and research cooperation between the two brotherly countries, noting that the convergence of experiences and exchange of knowledge about environmental systems enhances joint efforts to protect the marine environment and ensure its sustainability for future generations.
She added that this initiative comes as part of a series of ongoing efforts to enhance environmental cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which reflects the commitment to joint work to protect ecosystems and ensure their sustainability in the future.
