المملكة: Saudi Arabia weather.. Khamis Mushayt records the lowest temperatures today

The National Center of Meteorology revealed that the city of Khamis Mushait recorded the lowest temperatures in the Kingdom today, Friday, 19 Jumada al-Akhirah 1446 AH, as it reached 4 degrees Celsius.
While several other cities reported low temperatures ranging between 6 and 7 degrees Celsius, including Al Quwayiyah, Najran, Turaif, Abha, Qurayyat, and Dammam.

Saudi Arabia weather today

The center’s data showed that the cities of Riyadh, Arar, Bisha, and Al-Ahsa witnessed temperatures reaching 7 degrees Celsius.
This cold weather comes within the framework of the winter wave that the Kingdom is witnessing these days.
The National Center of Meteorology urges citizens and residents to take the necessary precautions and wear heavy clothing to avoid extreme cold, stressing its continued follow-up and providing updates through its official channels.

Weather of Saudi regions

The National Center of Meteorology announced the expected weather conditions for today, Friday, in Saudi Arabia
He pointed out that the opportunity is still ripe for thunderstorm rains accompanied by hail showers and active winds that stir up dirt and dust in the regions of Al-Baha, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Medina, Al-Jawf, Hail and the northern borders.
The rain is expected to extend to parts of the Qassim, Riyadh and Sharqiya regions, as well as to parts of the Tabuk region.

Drop in temperature

The Meteorological Center also did not rule out light snow falling on the highlands of (Jabal al-Lawz – Alqan – Al-Dhahar).
He noted a drop in temperatures and fog forming in parts of those areas.
The official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the city of Jeddah is still witnessing sporadic rains that include most of its neighborhoods.
He stated that the National Center of Meteorology station in the Bani Malik neighborhood recorded the highest amount of rainfall so far, amounting to 18 mm.
He explained that the center continues to monitor developments in the rain situation and will provide updated information about the highest amounts of rain recorded at the city level during the coming hours.

The beginning of winter astronomically

The head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, indicated that the winter solstice will occur on Saturday, December 21, at 12:20 noon, Mecca time.
He stated that the sun will be shining directly on the Tropic of Capricorn, which is a sign of the beginning of the astronomical winter in the northern hemisphere (which lasts approximately 89 days) and the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere.
He explained that the winter solstice occurs due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis and its movement around the sun, and because the Earth during its rotation around the sun is not vertical, but tilted by 23.5 degrees.
